Pacific Group on Disability Statistics (PGDS)

Background

The Washington Group on Disability Statistics (WG) is promoting the establishment of Regional Disability Statistics Groups that would carry on the work of the WG at a regional level. Regional Groups are a consortium of National Statistical Offices (NSOs), working in consultation with civil society and advocacy groups supporting the implementation of the WG tools and methodology in the region.

The Samoan Bureau of Statistics [SBS] volunteered to take on the role of leading the establishment of the Pacific Group on Disability Statistics. 

The first (virtual) meeting of the Pacific Group on Disability Statistics (PGDS) was hosted by the Samoa Bureau of Statistics (SBS) on July 16 and 17, 2020.
